Community Commemoration Guide
Each year, at appointed times and places, communities gather to remember the sacrifices of those who served and died in war. Ceremonies, with their set order of activities and symbols of commemoration, help a country or community pass on the act and meaning of remembrance from generation to generation.
During the Centenary of Anzac, communities across NSW are encouraged to commemorate a century of service by Australian servicemen and women. The guide below is designed to help communities plan and promote local commemorative activities, from formal ceremonies to exhibitions and local research projects.
